Covid vaccination card retrieval via wedding website?

Jessica, on February 9, 2022 at 9:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

Hi Everyone!

Just curious if anyone is collecting proof of vaccination status, and if so can we do on our website somehow? Or how are you guys collecting them?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I’m not in your position, but there is not a way to do this using a WW website.

    Hi Jessica,
This does not answer your question at all but have you thought about asking your guests to get tested regardless of their vaccination status? I ask because being vaccinated does not stop you from getting the virus, speaking from experience.

    Hi Shannon,
Yes this is true. I will need to think this over and talk with my fiancé and family to see if that would be a viable option.

Shocking Zola or other sites have not thought of that.

I have the answer: make a google form for RSVPS, add a question saying “please upload proof of vaccination,” increase the file size limit, and post the link on your website RSVP page. No one has had any issues so far and it also allows further customization for other questions.

Personally, we have to have guests show proof at the door because the venue needs to match the ID to the Vax Card.

Before knowing this, we were going to send an email 2 weeks before the wedding and ask guests to email a picture of their card and put all those emails in a folder so they were easy to access. On our RSVP page, guests had to type in their email in order to submit an "attending" RSVP

How do you edit your options to have them enter in an email address?

Just my 2 cents, the major wedding websites probably have thought of this, but considering this is all highly sensitive personal data, it brings them under A LOT of data privacy laws they would need to comply with. Probably not worth the compliance headache for them

I collected my guests covid tests and vaccine cards using a Dropbox link that they could upload a picture of it to and only I would have access to view.

For the weddings I've attended, the couple had guests email them their vaccination card as well as proof of a negative test. Worked out well!
