Just looking for opinions on those of you with July weddings?! It’s such an odd time because it’s far enough away yet the more I’m hearing of things being pushed back it also is very close. What are you guys thinking?

You’ll hear many different opinions on here! Mine personally is that July will be fine. This virus is never going to “go away”, but it will cool down if our states do what needs to be done. It’ll be a tricky time for everyone until they get a reliable vaccine! Depending on what state you live in has a lot to do with what months are fine and what months aren’t.

I agree with PP. I think in July you are going to be fine. The virus isn't going to go away but right now they need to get the curve to flatten so hospitals aren't overrun. My opinion is that they can't cancel everything and eventually will have to allow events to start happening. Look at your state's predictions that might help too!

My state is in mandatory lock down until the middle of June so I'd feel uncomfortable with a July date. But that's just me.

We're currently keeping our mid-July date, but making back up plans in case lockdowns or groups size restrictions are extended past our date. We plan to look at where things stand around the end of May and decide if we will postpone at that time. Also already making plan B plans to get married on our date regardless, even if we do the formal ceremony and party later.

NY Bride living in midtown Manhattan. Parents are ER medical staff, based on their advice from three weeks ago and watching the outbreak develop how they predicted, we finally gave in and postponed our July 3rd, 2020 wedding to September 3rd, 2021.

    Hi Katie,

It is a WILD time to be planning a wedding. Who could've imagined all of this happening 6 months ago?! In case you're interested, here are two other discussions with July brides:

    - July 2020 Weddings

    - Covid-19 July brides.

If quarantine lasts longer than we all hope, it's possible that mid to late summer weddings may have to be postponed. If the larger wedding/reception gets rescheduled, you could still celebrate the original date. Couples have many different ideas for Plan B. Here are a couple of relevant discussions if you get to that point:

    - Ideas in Place of a Reception

    - Ceremony now, party later

I'm hoping that everything normalizes in time for your July wedding! Smiley heart

My wedding in July 18th in Virginia. I feel VERY uncomfortable but haven't postponed yet. My half of the guest list is out of towners from like 10 states. Thankfully, no-one lives in New York. I see myself postponing but it is too hard...

NY July bride here heartbroken but decided to postpone to October to be safe I think July is way to close for comfort and I just can’t see NY being in stage 3 by then.
