Covid-19 Postponed Wedding- Items with Wedding date

Aimy, on March 18, 2020 at 10:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi all, our wedding was supposed to be this Saturday. Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled and postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We have a lot of items with our wedding date on them and we are not sure what to do. We thought about even doing a small civil ceremony on Saturday just to be able to keep the date but fiance is not super onboard with that. We literally have hundreds of dollars worth of items with the date including a seating chart which is a lost cause at this point. Any suggestions??

I would keep and use all the dated items and have a cute sign at your postponed wedding that explains you chose to keep the items because a date is only what you make of it, you're happy to celebrate with everyone, better late than never.

    Maybe something like
Please pardon the dateIt sure was worth the waitGlad we're here, even late!

I also asked the same question in a forum. I am in the same position and will probably keep the items such as wedding favors that have the date on them. I also have a wooden guestbook that people are going to sign that has the date. We are going to keep it with the original date, but ask the Etsy seller to send us the wooden numbers of our new date to add to it so both dates are on it. I think a cute sign the someone already suggested would be a good idea. Someone on my forum used the suggested wording: "Pardon our signage, we were blessed to have two wedding dates"

We have our cake topper and tumblers.
    We're just gonna use 'em.
    Not gonna replace them.

I’m in the same boat. We spent tons of money on “May 2nd” items.
We decided we are not rescheduling. If our venue cancels we will get married at home and my mom (who got ordained online last week) will marry us.
