Covid 19- 9-26-20 wedding

Brittany, on May 12, 2020 at 9:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 2 12
After having this dark cloud over me the last week or so I’ve finally come to peace with things. I was talking with future hubby today we and decided that no matter if it’s 5 people or 50 people we will still get married this year on our date and put the money we saved towards a house. We’re even considering just keeping the videographer and photographer and having just us and the officiant in the field in my moms backyard and everyone else can join us live via zoom or some other app. I’m finally ok with the possibility of not having the wedding of my dreams.. I have the man of my dreams and that’s the most important thing of all. Hugs to all of you having to make some very tough decisions! 💕

We made this decision as well. 10 days from now we are getting married with just us and our parents and siblings. We are doing what we can to live stream. End of the day you get to marry your best friend!

My fiancé and I have also opted to do the backyard thing here in Massachusetts this summer with (hopefully) 50 of our closest friends and family. At the end of the day, Im marrying my best friend and we will carry out a happy life together! I hope and pray for the backyard wedding to happen but if it’s not in the cards, we will be ok. Thinking of you and praying you have a beautiful day 💕

I am also scheduled to get married on 9/26/20 and just like you I've been feeling very down and out about it. All of my vendors are booked and we were close to finishing up other things (wedding attire) when all of this chaos started happening. So there has been days where I'm so anxious about it and then it makes me sad because I've been planning this for over a year and this is suppose to be exciting. Thankfully we have already decided that we were having a small wedding (50). So we are just continuing on with our original plans and have no intentions on postponing if our venue is open. I've gotten a few messages from family encouraging me to postpone, but for one I think it's a little too early. Regardless what happens, my FH and I decided that we will be married on 9/26/20 anyways since that is our anniversary. So I've just been working on taking things day by day since it's too early to tell. Best of luck to my fellow 2020 brides!! ❤

This is basically exactly what we will be doing in July! Only parents, siblings, officiant, and photographer. Restaurant is delivering food!

I'm so glad you've made a decision and feel good about it! I think all these upcoming weddings - while intimate in size - are going to be some of the most poignant and personal wedding celebrations ever! You're really stripping away a lot of the "hoopla" and focusing on the most important things. Smiley heart

❤️ completely agree with you!! I love the idea of putting the money toward your house as if this affects you in that you can’t have a wedding at least it will benefit you that way. It’s smart!
I hope no matter what you both know in your heart you are doing what is best for both of you and you have fun.

Good for you! Our original date was April 11th, but we had to postpone to September 27th. However, we still decided to get married on our original date with just our family members in my parents' backyard, and we did a Zoom call for our loved ones to be able to join in. Given the circumstances, it was still the most beautiful moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. Holding on to see how things progress in the next few months before making a decision for our September date, but we are hoping & praying for the best!

I'm glad you've come to peace with it! Hopefully things will be better by September. I thought I'd be okay with a ten person wedding, but when it came down to it, I decided to just postpone. Good luck and I'm sure you'll have a beautiful wedding no matter what!
