Covering Tattoo's

A few of my bridesmaids have really huge obnoxious tattoos, and I really want to ask them to cover them. I will also be covering mine. Is this too much to ask? I am willing to pay for the tattoo covering solution.

Two of my bridesmaids have tattoos that I want covered. I also have a tattoo that I am getting covered for my weddding. My wedding is going to be rather formal and showing tattoos is not part of that. However, because I an requiring them to cover them up, I am paying for it. I think it's only fair. I don't think it's rude at all for you to ask, especially since you're getting yours covered up. Also, I don't know about anyone else's photographer, but mine charges an additional $75/hr to photoshop/edit pictures that require more than normal editting. I am not paying extra to have tattoos photoshopped out of wedding pictures when getting each tattoo covered up by a professional make up artist will solve the problem, especially when it's on my dime.

Sounds like a fair request especially if you're covering yours as well. Do the BM dresses help with coverage?

I don't think it's rude to ask...the question is...what will you do if one of them refuses?

I don't get the asking BM to cover tats even if the bride covers theirs its their choice. I love my tats and would politely back out of I was asked to cover mine. I figure I had been asked and they knew I had tats. And one of them is large!! I get its the brides day and if they want pictures with no tats then ask people that have none. My MOH has full sleeve tats and I couldn't imagine asking her to cover them. Its who she is. Just my 2 cents.

I think it's fine if you ask them to cover their tattoos, especially if you're paying for it. This is your wedding and you'll be looking at these pictures for along time. If someone asked me to cover my tattoo (if it was going to be visible) I wouldn't take offense to it.
