Covering tattoos for wedding

Ashlee, on February 13, 2017 at 3:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I have a bridesmaid that has a few tattoos on her arm - one being larger. She is very uncomfortable with her tattoos and wants to make sure they are hidden for FH and I's wedding. Has anyone ever had sleeves added to a bridesmaids dress or had their bridesmaid have professional makeup done to cover tattoos? I'm just looking for ideas/options that I could look into.

Future Mrs.Nunley - do you have any personal experience with this makeup? my only concern is I don't want it to look like she has some sort of skin discoloration. Also, I don't want it to come off if it gets wet or she rubs on something.

Kat Von D and Dermablend are highly recommended here so I'd assume that they both do a good job and look natural. You can also talk to your MUA to see what they recommend.

A lot of MUA offer tattoo coverage as a part of their packages. Or, not sure where you are located, could she wear a shawl or cover up wrap? Sucks that she doesn't like them Smiley sad

Future Mrs.Nunley and La Grosera - thank you for your opinions! I will definitely look into these options and share them with her Smiley smile

San - I'm located in Northeast Ohio. She could easily get away with a shawl or wrap. That is our second option if there is no other way that works well Smiley smile

I got a great tattoo coverup from Amazon. It came with 3 colors and I blended them. I did a trial a few weeks before my sisters wedding, then applied it again the day of, first thing in the morning. Nobody saw it!

My personal experience with the dermablend leg and body coverup was that it transferred easily and looked very orange on me. Maybe it's better on other skin tones and with setting powder, but just a heads up. I might just layer foundation on my shoulder tattoo I dislike, set it with powder/setting spray.
