Courthouse Wedding

We are doing a courthouse wedding! We are combining some traditional wedding things with some nontraditional ones. I am still going to wear a wedding dress, but one that is much simpler than most brides wear for a traditional wedding. I’m going to wear a long veil (my mom’s), but I don’t plan to carry a bouquet. We hired an amazing photographer, but aren’t going to do videography. I think I am going to do my own hair and makeup (mainly because I haven’t had great luck with hmua’s doing what I like in the past). We are not having a reception afterward- just the 2 of us are going out to eat and cocktails. We are getting a hotel room for a 4-day weekend and splurging on lots of activities and expensive restaurants! We can’t wait for our romantic elopement weekend together!

I thought I wanted a simple wedding but as I go through to try and plan I’m realizing a lot of stuff is not necessary and honestly I just want to get married and go on nice little getaway and be done with it.. the problem is our kids… they want a big wedding and want to be included . They can be included in the courthouse wedding but all that extra stuff I’m not sure if I really want to do.. I was thinking as an alternative we have a courthouse wedding, in ole the kids and any close friends and family who will like to come.. then go to dinner and call it a night maybe a night or two at a nice hotel or air b and b ..family on bus side of the family invited us to Hawaii in July and we of course wants to go so I’m thinking we may treat that has a honeymoon but we definitely can’t plan a big wedding and pay for the trip to Hawaii …
