Hello ladies! So I've come to the idea about wanting a courthouse alternative wedding at a chapel. Small guest count, 15-20 minute written ceremony, just the witnesses etc. But I really want a first dance and I'm lost at where to have the reception. I want to save money because I really want to go to Mexico for our honeymoon and this is way less stressful too. So any ideas would be appreciated!

I've been to a wedding sorta like this.
They got married in a community garden.
Then had a reception dinner at a local restaurant in a private room.
They brought a sheet cake and a bluetooth speaker and had a first dance.

You can dance anywhere. Small bluetooth speakers pack a lot of sound. I'd dance at the top of the courthouse steps. Let the general public celebrate with you. ❤️

Hey Hannah!
If a courthouse wedding is what you and your FS want, then that’s exactly what you should do!! Will you be planning a reception with guests? You could look into some local restaurants that have a private dining area that you hire for your reception. This would eliminate the need to hire a caterer and you could arrange the dining tables to allow space for you and your FS to have your first dance.
You could also have a backyard reception if you would prefer a more casual affair.
