Courthouse Wedding

Rebecca, on August 1, 2019 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
We decided to go to the beach and go to the courthouse there, this would be a 4-5 hour drive for us. Has anyone done it this way or does anyone know if I'd be able to change into my dress there at the courthouse whether it's the bathroom or something? Just don't want anything ruining the dress on the trip up there

You'd have to contact the office at the courthouse and find out about their facilities, but I'm sure they should have a washroom. Surely you should be able to wear your regular clothes and then change into your dress upon arrival! Smiley smile

I agree, you should be able to change somewhere!

If you have a larger dress or any sort of train, be sure you have someone to help you get into it so it doesn't get on a bathroom floor or anything.

There's no train, it doesn't go past my knee I think. So there's no worry of floor dragging

I’m getting my ceremony done at my local courthouse. They don’t provide a private room but there is bathrooms for the public. Mine is going to take place at 4 which is a half hour before it closes so there should be less people. However, I’m just going to wear my dress there. I don’t want to bring too much in because the security at our courthouse is a bit crazy. Don’t forget to ask about their policies on photographs!!

I imagine you’re not the first court house wedding they’ve had, so they probably have an answer to your question. I wouldn’t want to sit in the car that long in my wedding dress. It’s going to be wrinkled and not look great in your photos. A courthouse is a public building, so they have to have restrooms available. Just use the handicap stall so you have extra room. And it’s just a dress, so it shouldn’t be a problem to get through security, especially when you tell them why you are there.
