Courthouse Wedding dress

Christie, on April 19, 2016 at 3:14 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

We have decided to get married at the courthouse and I'm having trouble finding a suitable conservative dress. My FH is in law enforcement and will be in uniform. The following day we are having a formal event(less the ceremony) where I'll be wearing a big white gown. Suggestions?

You can wear whatever you want - conservative, fancy or casual. Smiley smile Are you thinking Target style or something more high end?

ETA words. I need to get off here at night, my brain stops working...

Everyone's 'conservative' is different. What is it to you OP? Anything other than a sundress? Or fully/mostly covered? Budget? Are you looking for a traditional wedding dress color?

Conservative to me is no/minimal cleavage, not strapless, and nothing shorter than tea-length.

Under $100. Knee to tea length (I'm short so everything runs long on me anyway). Possibly sleeveless and more of a sheath style. But I'm a girl that loves pockets, so I'm not opposed to a fuller skirt.

Under $100 might be tricky. I would personally go to Macy's or another department store and just see what I can find. I am pretty over trying to buy clothing online due to a recent experience where I ordered a dress from a shop that didn't do refunds and wasted money shipping back and forth. Only order from places with free returns where you don't have to pay for the shipping costs. I needed a conservative knee length white dress with sleeves for my confirmation and I had the best luck just going to Macy's. Check out these dresses on Modcloth though. There are some cute ones, but more around $175-$200

Check out the sale section on BHLDN! Their dresses are gorgeous and pricey, but I snagged two of my party dresses (shower and RD) for under $100 there.

Why not just wear your gown? Lots of brides do it.

I'm not doing courthouse, just a small church ceremony. I found mine at Macy's for less than $100.

It's a little more low-cut than I wanted, but I was able to fix it with a few stitches! Smiley smile
