Courthouse wedding and reception

Hey guys!
My fiancé and I were thinking about just getting married in the courthouse and saving some money in the dress and tux and stuff and save the money for the reception. My only question is when you had a courthouse wedding did you guys have a normal reception? Or did you guys have a small get together? Or what would be the most appropriate to do?

Well we were going to go to the courthouse also, but I wanted to have a nicer location/scenery. We decided to have it at Forsyth Park in Savannah and then just going to dinner afterwards. Mind you we only have less than 20 guests, so were basically trying to save money, but still make it nice

You can plan any kind of reception you want. What speaks to you and your FH the most? Backyard BBQ? Do it. Fancy ballroom, plated dinner, DJ, open bar? Do it. Or anything in between. Getting married at the courthouse doesn't make you undeserving of a reception to celebrate your marriage.
