So I need some advice for our courthouse wedding. We are planning on going to the courthouse December 12th to get married due to financial reasons but having a big reception and ceremony two years later for the family and friends that could not attend the courthouse wedding. The Saturday before the courthouse we were either gonna have an engagement party or bridal shower just to celebrate us getting engaged/married. Would it be a bad idea to have a bridal shower, first of all, two days away from us getting married and second, before a courthouse wedding that not everyone invited to the party will be able to attend? I just want to have some type of celebration for the courthouse wedding or just engagement.
