Have you booked all your vendors yet? Or have you a couple left to book?

I’m not a date twin but I’m getting married in Escondido. So far I have a DJ, the Church, and Reception Hall with catering. I don’t know if I can be of any help but I can try

View Quoted Comment I am going with Sound Prodigy. He’s giving us a good deal, but I chose him because of his reviews. I don’t always trust Yelp but between that and the wedding websites, he has a ton of 5 star reviews that mention how he really engages the guests. Our crowd will be mostly 40 and up, but some in their 20s and they all love to dance. I’d rather not have a flashy 23 year old playing the newest beat. I want somebody who uses our songs as a starting point and then pays attention to what is getting people to dance and keeps it going. I also know a florist and she actually endorsed him as well. I can’t tell you about the lights he can do because I don’t think I want to spend $ on fancy lighting. Rather have more guests instead.

View Quoted Comment I’m not sure about flowers yet because of our budget. But I can honestly recommend Simply Glamorous. Jen has done some great work. She can do “just flowers” but she can also come up with decor items as well. She even does things like baby showers. I really should call her but I’m still figuring out the budget and even though she says no job is too small, I’m afraid my budget will be and I am not ready to face it yet lol. My FH has a niece who as offered and she did a great job on her own wedding. But family and business...I don’t know yet.

Did you pick your venue?

I will look them up! I've had just the worst time finding a florist. My budget for it is pretty small because I honestly am not a huge floral person and would probably do without them if I could.

I have picked my venue, Ill be getting married at Forgotten Barrel in Escondido. Its a winery and its super cute. My ceremony and reception is going to be held there. How about you? Have you found your venue yet?

Our wedding will be at his church. We booked the Center for Performing Arts for the reception . More expensive (but less work) than do it ourself at a hall, cheaper than a country club. They do the catering as well, including the cake. At first I thought, oh yeah sure what kind of cake will that be? Then I found out they use Cute Cakes! That’s who I wanted to hire anyway. If you haven’t been there and you like sweets, you need to go there. They also have breakfast and lunch which is good, but Death by Chocolate MMMM.

One thing about my venue that gets me weepy is that our names (and pic if we want) will be on the marquee the week of our wedding. I never like to be the center of attention but I think it’s pretty cool.
