Couples getting married on July 28, 2020

Jessica, on May 12, 2020 at 9:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 1

Hi ladies!

Like all of you, I have been so so stressed lately. I have already changed my wedding date once. It was suppose to be June 4, 2020. Now, I'm getting married July 28, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida. I live in Chicago, IL. It's destination wedding to a beach. We have our venue and all venders booked but nothing is fully paid off.

Honestly, I'm planning two weddings at once. To Florida wedding, and what MIGHT be a backyard wedding... in my backyard...in Illinois.

I'm watching the news and I know they are opening things up in Florida, but in Chicago, we are moving a different pace. We have 5 phases of reopening IL, and we are on phase 2 right now. Phase 4 is when we can travel and be with 50 people again. I am also being aware that many people will probably not RSVP because they don't even know what is happening. One of my childhood best friend's said she's afraid to travel to Florida.

I don't know what to do. I'm just trying to see what everyone else is doing.

    Hi Jessica,

I'm so sorry you are going through this! Postponing your wedding is not an easy decision, and it's tougher when it's not your call. BUT St. Petersburg is such a beautiful place -- I'm sure it will be equally fun and relaxing when you're able to head down there.

WeddingWire has gathered some resources here: COVID-19 Wedding Support Central. You'll find articles like:- What to Do If You Have to Cancel Your Destination Wedding- You’ve Decided to Postpone Your Wedding. Now What?- “My Wedding Was Postponed Due to Covid-19, but Now I Get a ‘Do-Over’”If the financial strain of this pandemic prevents some of your guests from attending, will you be OK with their absence? Will waiting until 2021 guarantee their presence? You can't control anyone's circumstances, of course, so maybe you could take an informal poll of the family and friends that you most want to see at your wedding. Their responses may help you decide your next step. In the end, you should make the decision that feels right for you. tNfzh5l2DqY174PTz2s3UDnoYIEE1TX4V67XINfcGood luck with your new date, whenever it may be!
