How is your planning going? Are you thinking about rescheduling your date due to COVID19? We are really conflicted 😩

As of now, no! Our wedding is August 30th now and we’re planning as usual until we see the guidelines in July, if there are any still. It’s so hard to tell what the future will hold. Things have been changing so fast!

We've decided to keep our date so far. My father in law - we eloped on our original date- told us that a vaccine won't be for awhile, so we're all going to have to figure out how to deal with it. He's a doctor who has been dealing with a lot, but he still thinks a smaller wedding in August is feasible. Of course you'll have to contend with things like people wearing masks and lower numbers, but if you're good with that then go for it! I've been working on not feeling guilty, but my father in law's advice was that people will have to start working long before that.

We rescheduled from June to August. It's an outdoor ceremony and reception, so just hoping we are at a phase where we can at least have 50 guests. We will not reschedule again (private ceremony if it comes to that) since any date in the future is uncertain until there is a vaccine/cure.

I rescheduled my “big” wedding from June to August 7 (are doing a small ceremony June 20). We do not want to reschedule again or postpone to next year so we plan on proceeding with August as long as we can have 50 guests. If not, I guess we will do a vow renewal next summer.

    Hi Karli,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your wedding. That's a really tough spot. You're obviously not alone. Here are some other discussions with August brides:

Is your venue willing to discuss plan B dates in 2020 or maybe even 2021 (depending on your preference)? Have you reached out to inquire? Would putting a soft hold on a later date be an option for you? Unfortunately, it's a bit of a waiting game for everyone right now.

I hope you can make a decision that brings you peace. Smiley heart
