I actually changed my wedding date from 10/3/2020 to 8/21/21 due to COVID.... it makes the process a little easier as I already have a venue, vendor, dress choice, officiant, cake, DJ, & photography

    Hi Jen,
So far I have the venue, which will be at our Apostolic church and our pastor is officiating. As of the reception venue, which will be in a different place, we have a place in mind just need to fill out the rental agreement. Now I’m looking at catering. I have also started on our registry(haven’t made it public yet) and have picked out some decor for the church and wrote out my ideas for the decor.

Im in NY and i spoke to my venue yesterday i signed a contract last year. My venue is in the Hudson valley area and they just started doing macro wedding and up to 50. The venue coordinator is saying keep my numbers under 75 at the point for next year and they are willing to make changes in the contact. She is hopeful things will change by next summer knowing the effects it is having on the industry. She is almost booked for next summer as well

Hi all! I am also an 8-21-21 bride and we’re having our wedding in NYC! So far we’ve booked the venue, caterer, photographer, videographer, and DJ. This pandemic has changed everything. I remember in the beginning I took advantage of the downtime during quarantine and got a lot of planning done, but as time has gone on and we’ve all realized that this is more long term, I’ve just become worried. A lot can change in a year, but most days I worry that not enough progress will be made. It’s so hard to enjoy planning with all that is going on in this country and the world. We recently took our engagement photos and I am planning to send Save the Dates next month but sometimes I think about not sending them at all because it’s such a sad time now and there’s so much uncertainty. I had also planned to go dress shopping with my family this summer, but that didn’t happen. I am going to try to hold off on dress shopping as much as possible until things improve. Other than that, we know which baker we are going for for our cake and we will likely DIY our florals from Flower Moxie or FiftyFlowers since we want simple greenery. Hair and Make Up is the only vendor I am very unsure about since they can be so expensive, especially in NYC (recommendations are welcome!).

How is everyone else feeling about the pandemic? My fiancé and I have already decided that we would postpone the entire wedding if necessary because we don’t want to compromise any of our plans or jeopardize anyone’s health or not fully enjoy ourselves! But I have all my fingers crossed that it doesn’t come to that and that somehow all of this suffering can end sooner than we think.

I’m a little nervous about the pandemic and how it could affect my 8/21/21 wedding. But I’m trying to remain positive that it will work out for us all! I had never heard of flower moxie or FiftyFlowers. Is this a website or YouTube channel?

Yes, wishing the best for all the 2020 and 2021 couples!

FiftyFlowers and Flower Moxie are online companies where you can order flowers in bulk. I know with Flower Moxie you can even set up a virtual consultation and they have videos online to show you how to arrange the flowers. I know many Wedding Wire brides have used them so there are older threads about them in the forums and they’re on the vendor list.
