Yes! We have our venue, catering, and photographer so far. Soon we’ll be meeting with a DJ so hopefully that will be added to the list! We’re currently experimenting with 3D printing something to hold name tags at tables

I will be getting married 8/21/21. I am super excited but still looking at different venues online. But by the end of the summer we will start visiting our top choices and will be putting a deposit down. I can already feel my credit card being burned out. But I know it will be all worth it at the end!!!

I have started planning...I’m so excited I feel like even though it’s 17 months away it’s so much to do and I don’t want to rush. I have a makeup artist and a photographer so far....If anyone needs a makeup artist let me know she can come to you...I really want to get my venue situated a lot of places are already booking up for 2021. #08/21/2021

Yes! Tentatively booked the venue and looking at vendors now. As soon as covid19 is handled all the weddings that were postponed are going to be rescheduled. We do not want to play from behind!

Smiley heart Hi ladies! Fellow 8/21/20 bride here. Smiley heart

Checking in to see how everyone is doing on their planning.

I spent ALL DAY today reviewing contracts, printing them, filling out my wedding planner book with all vendor information (POCs, phone numbers, pricing, etc).

Complete: venue, photographer, dj, caterer, videographer (wasn't on our original list of must-haves), photo booth (also wasn't on our original list of must-haves), dress, bridesmaids dresses are ordered, suits picked out (guys are slacking on their measurements that are due by the end of April though).

    Still need:

*Cake (probably doing a faux cake from Etsy or a little Wegman's / other bakery cake just for us and then a Costco or similar sheet cake - clearly cake is not our priority).

    *Florist

*Some decorations, have a few. Is anyone doing a rustic theme and using the circular wood slabs as the base for the table decorations? Where did you get yours?

*Invitations (not worried about these- going with SIMPLE (and RSVPs will be online so no extra envelope & postage). Where did everyone order their invitations from?

*Alcohol (sent emails and the fiance made phone calls today)

*Hair & Makeup (sent emails out today requesting prices, etc)

Initially we budgeted for about $15k (North of Pittsburgh). Well, that budget came and went (especially with my decisions of "needing" a videographer and a cool photo booth). Where is everyone cutting costs? I think we're going to cut costs on the alcohol and only do a full open bar during the cocktail hour. Beer & wine once the reception starts. Thoughts? Also cut cost of the rehearsal dinner by having the food brought to the venue instead of going out to eat. Who are you having at your rehearsal dinner? We're having our bridal party, their SO's, our parents, and the officiant and his wife. Should be about 32 people (wedding is about 135/145). We may also cut the "butler-served" appetizers during cocktail hour and save about $500. We'll still have cheese & crackers, veggie trays, a cookie table, and a full bar. I think cutting those three things (full bar all night, rehearsal dinner being delivered, and cutting 2 of the apps) will equate to about $1500-$2000 in savings. Smiley smile

My wedding is 8-21-21!!! So far I have our venue, DJ, photographer, florist, and I’ve asked my bridal party to be in the wedding already!! I feel like there’s so much that I need to do that I don’t even know about!! And while I have the time now during this whole quarantine I want to get the upper hand on everything but idk where to start!!!

Hi! We are getting married 8/21 also! We have started planning already which I’m glad we did given the current state and everyone rescheduling. We have our venue locked down and are working on photographers/videographers and the DJ.
