Couples getting married in 2021

Arianna, on August 3, 2019 at 8:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
We have to wait until 2021 to get married due family scheduling issues. This is something that has upset me for a while now because the original plan was the get married in 2020. Does anyone else get the famous “why are you planning your wedding, it’s so far away”? If you do, is it just me or does that really annoy you?

I get the same! My fiance and I have been engaged for a year and still have over a year left. When people keep asking why we waited so long, we explained we are paying for the wedding ourselves and needed to save for other expenses on top of the wedding. Also, when I tell my fiance I want to plan now, he tells me we have so much time and he wants to wait. Frustrating!

I've been asked that too. It is very annoying. My wedding is in just over 2 yrs. We have already started planning. Since we are paying for it ourselves we need the time to save.

I got engaged in April this year and we are getting married June 2020 so a little over a year after our engagement and people still asked why we were waiting so long! Lol! My response is always the same...my son graduates June 2020. I’m getting him out of high school first! Not to mention it is working out great with having time to find and pay vendors. Weddings are expensive!

It annoys me. My FH grandma was like that and her drive is so much closer and she gets to stay in a house that is paid for already. While my family that comes have to drive anywhere between 9-21 hours if they drive just to attend my wedding and they aren't complaining.

I get this all of the time. It's honestly really annoying, but people don't realize that their well-meaning questions can make a girl feel bummed about waiting. I know that waiting until 2021 will be better for me and my FH to sort some things out and save, but after praying a lot about it, ultimately, waiting is what God wants for us, and it's comforting to know that he is still working in the waiting. He shows up in the best ways and has filled the waiting so far with growth (together and individually) as well as so many special opportunities we didn't realize we would have. Know that He is with you in the waiting, and don't forget to enjoy your engagement!
