Couple Exit when not leaving, HELP!

Candice, on August 23, 2016 at 2:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 38

We are hosting our wedding at the same hotel that we are staying in but we cant figure out how to have an 'exit,' when we aren't actually leaving to go anywhere. Someone recommended to get a limo and drive around the block but that just seems stupid to me. We are hoping to go to a local bar where we met and have our bridal party come with but we still have NO ideas on how to exit properly. Also if were exiting from an indoor wedding, what type of send off ideas are good for inside parties? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Why do you need to have an exit?

Our venue is the same situation - reception is in the hotel that we're staying in. I was thinking of having the DJ announce, maybe before the last song, that people can join us at the hotel bars if they want to keep partying? (Obviously not in those exact words.) And then we will just....walk out of the ballroom after the last song? I don't really know what you could do with an indoor send-off. I'm not a fan of send-offs in general (lots of people are drunk/not paying attention to what is going on, & the ones I've seen have been so incredibly staged for pictures) so I don't think we would have one even if we were outdoors.

Also, please change your avatar so we can get to know you better!

You don't have to have a staged "exit". We are also staying at the hotel where our reception is and we are staying till the very end and bidding our guests good night. Then we might slip over to the bar inside the hotel for a last drink with close family and/or bridal party, then we'll just go up to our room.

@Elphaba I LOATHE those sparkler send-offs. The last wedding I went to, everyone had to move to an entirely different location outside just so the bride and groom could get their sparkler pictures. It was so shamelessly staged.

ETA also we are date twins!! Smiley smile

We didn't have a formal exit. We were leaving on the bus with everyone else who was going back to the hotel. And quite frankly I feel like it would have taken time out of the reception when all I wanted to do was keep dancing right up till the end lol.

We stayed at the reception place until the end with our guests, when the guests left we tore down all the décor and went to nap land (I call it nap land because we got 3 hours of sleep).

Didn't have an exit either. Considering we got married in the hotel suite we were staying in, we didn't need one.

We're probably doing glowsticks. I like the exits, and we'll have the glowsticks out toward the end of the night for dancing. But when we leave we're going to another location alltogether.

Rather than an "exit" at the end of the night, we are having our guests toss lavender buds as we walk through our recessional on the way to the reception that is across the lawn. That way we get those "exit" photos without having an exit. Could you do something like that?

    We won't be doing one.

Unless it is super important to you to get "those" pictures, then just skip it.

We didn't have an exit. Most people hugged and said goodbye to us as they were leaving. We stayed in the reception room doing that for a while, and then we left. Nothing fancy.

We aren't doing an exit either. Our ceremony and reception is at the same place as well. We are going to be heading to the bars or straight to the hotel afterwards depending how tired we are. I figured people would leave at all different times so didn't have any sort of exit planned. We will just leave when everyone else leaves.

Fancy exit not necessary, no matter what Pinterest tells you.

We're not doing an exit. We will be staying at the same hotel, and most of us are heading to a bar afterwards.
