My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

I feel your pain. My makeup artist (@LDMBeautyGroup in FL) kept $700 and we hadn’t even done a trial yet! Our florist refunded us in full and our DJ said he wants to refund us (he’s required to by contract) when he can but he’s struggling right now. I told him we’d reach out in a few months but who knows. I feel for people struggling, but everyone is right now, so there’s no need to be a jerk and aggressively enforce policies when you can always agree to refund later when business picks back up...
We were supposed to get married 6/6/2020 and we have finally decided to postpone till 6/5/2021 It was so hard to call everyone bc we have been planning for so long (2 years) but we r both strong and we will get through this together
Sending some love and good thoughts out to this thread and all the other would be May 2nd brides and grooms. We haven’t picked a date yet for next year because I’m nervous about COVID and really want my parents and siblings by my side too, but I’m confident it will come and will be all we dreamed of for this weekend. Wishing that all of you have your magical moments whatever that looks like in this new world ❤️

I so agree! We calculated that our venue makes an average of about $60k a month during a 6-8 month wedding season or roughly $420+. That’s assuming her weddings are only on Fri-Sun, but she will also allow weddings during the week. Compare that to us, who we are paying every dime for our wedding. And, these businesses are allowed to apply for bailouts or .025% interest loans, which I guarantee some of them are doing on top of keeping our money. That’s what is so frustrating.
Anyone else postponing festivities but still getting legally married? We're still getting married 5/30/20 but postponing the ceremony and reception till 5/30/2021.

Wow. They did ours to the end of May, but I see that regressing the more people are out again and spreading the virus all over. We are moving forward with very small wedding on May 22nd and celebration next year!!

Yes, our original date was May 30th. It’s extended until May 15th with a few restrictions. The governor is gradually reopening businesses in two week increments. So hopefully by June 13th we are free to have our wedding. ❤️

We did. We kept our May 2nd scheduled date and had a small ceremony. It was absolutely perfect and we are scheduled for our ceremony on 8-8-20. But now I’m having 2nd thoughts about even having another ceremony! It was exhausting and I’m not sure I want to do it again 🤣
It was a lot of fun! And had our closest friends over for a bbq after. Less than ten of course! But still wondering about our scheduled ceremony. My dress is still in alterations and it’s all paid for but I’m happy already. No idea what we will do! Losing deposits sucks.

I was so disappointed at first bc we irked Nd planned so hard. But I’m completely happy how the small wedding turned out! I’m glad we went ahead bc you just never know with this virus 😩 I did see where some were having their big celebration a year later. I may opt for that! I really was exhausted by the time it was all said and done! Not sure I want to turn around and do it again in three months 😆

Considering doing this. We pushed from 5/30 to 7/18 and may need to push again but thinking about just getting married at the courthouse (dress, makeup, photographer and all) and then having a party at some point in 2021
