Marie, on March 12, 2020 at 7:34 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
I’m supposed to be traveling to Portland in May for my wedding, we were scheduled to get married at Multnomah Falls but now this virus stuff. Has anyone canceled their wedding or thinking about it???

I haven’t, but do have a couple friends who have cancelled or rescheduled weddings further out (This October and next March) because of it

I'm not going to reschedule 😊 at the end of the day if the only people who are at the wedding is me and my fh, I'll be happy. It's our wedding and I know my family will show up as long as they dont have any symptoms of this virus. But I'm also guessing itll have run the majority of its course by may and we should be ok. I live in ct and we have some confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

As things have become more locked down - I'm on mandatory work from home starting today - we discussed it again. 23 days out, and who knows if vendors will cancel at this rate. Trying to take it one day at a time because we don't want to postpone. We probably won't unless we're forced to. This is the last thing I expected happening, and now I'm just incredibly sad.

Same here. I already called all my vendors to get information about how much I’d lose. Since we’d all be traveling, I just can’t risk my parents health. I’m totally devastated.

My FH's mom is my main worry - she is already pretty frail. I wouldn't want her to risk it and get sick just because she had to be here. They're deep in the medical field though, and they don't seem too worried. At worst, his dad might have to drive him up so we can have a smaller ceremony. It just makes me incredibly sad because I almost feel like I would be giving up my dream wedding either way, either eloping on that day or postponing. We're trying to play it by ear but I've already cried multiple times.

My dad has a history of heart issues, history of cancer and type 2 diabetic. He catches colds etc real quick so he’s my main concern, not so much in Portland but the two plane trip getting there.

We are not cancelling our wedding (worst case scenario we will just invite friends and family to come to our house & have our officiant do something super quick), but we are considering cancelling our honeymoon due to the 30 day travel restrictions from Europe.

We planned to go Iceland the last week of March / first week of April but it's looking like we'll have to cancel or postpone. We'll be talking to our travel agent this afternoon to establish a game plan.

I do not think you have to be worried. This should all be under control by then. Talk to your venue

I would move forward as well. Unless the most important people you want there can’t be there OR literally most of the wedding guests aren’t coming. Or if your venue cancels. But otherwise you could always reconfirm rsvps closer to the date.

I'm in CT with an end of May wedding as well. I'm trying to keep the same positive outlook! It's hard and I am stressed but I'm praying it will be under control by then!
