Coronavirus & Wedding Dresses

Jennifer, on March 10, 2020 at 9:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
I bought and ordered my dress in January. I was told it would be in around July 1st. My wedding is 10/10/20 so I would have time for alterations and what not... but now with this COVID 19, I’m so worried my dress won’t be here in time. Has anyone heard how delayed the dresses are?

The shop may or may not know yet. I’d say a 2-3 month delay but you ordered at the beginning of it so maybe you’ll be ok???

I have ordered 2 items (not dresses) directly from China this month and there was no delay.

David's Bridal has some kind of sign on their website saying they have any delays under control.
Definitely check with the shop, but don't stress over something outside your control. China is a huge country. They're still making things happen.

My wedding is in July and my dress isn't scheduled to arrive until May. I called the store yesterday and they said that the company has not told them of any delays in production, so hopefully all will be fine! You have more of a time buffer than I do, so I wouldn't be too worried.

I would definitely touch base with where you ordered it from. I've heard some places are having a couple month delay. But then I got an email from the place where my girls got their bridesmaids dresses and they said they haven't even been impacted. I think it really differs place to place.

I was told in mid-February to expect upwards of 6-month delays in dresses. I am / was VERY fortunate. I ordered my dress online shortly after the boutique warned me and was told it would take up to 8 weeks for delivery and is expected to arrive today.

I think it just depends on where / who you ordered from. I ordered from a company recommended my UK wedding sites vs the most common US sites.

Have you thought about ordering a back up dress, or going into a bridal shop and taking one off the rack just in case?

Date twinSmiley smile My wedding is also 10/10/20! I think you should be fine. Who is the designer of your dress?I know my designer (Essense of Australia) is known to be quicker than others. I purchased my gown on 9/28 and it was here by 1/17. They projected 4 months and it was quicker than that. Even if it gets a little delayed with the virus, I'd say it will take 6-7 months MAX.

Yay! Date twin! ❤️ It’s a Maggie Sottero. I called the bridal shop and they said they haven’t heard or had delays yet. Fingers crossed.

I also ordered my dress in Jan and my wedding is 10/10/2020. I called my store and asked and they said it is actually on track to come sooner in April Smiley laugh

Call and find out the status and see if there has been any delay.
