Coronavirus Bride Rescheduled😭

Lindsay, on April 10, 2020 at 11:44 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2
Our wedding was scheduled for May 16th. Our venue is making us reschedule some time in 2020. We plan on eloping with our parents present on our original date, then doing a vow renewal once I am able to find a new date that works with our venue and vendors. I'm just not sure how I am going to word our new invitations for the rescheduled wedding being we will be married already.😭

I would probably put something like this on your wedding website if you have one...

"FH and I understand that this is a difficult time for many due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak happening all over the world. In regards to that, we have decided to postpone our wedding in favor of a more intimate ceremony with our parents. It breaks our hearts knowing that we won't be able to have the chance to celebrate with all of you on (original wedding date), but we would love it if you would attend our vow renewal on (new wedding date)."

That way you could just send out invitations in normal with new wedding date attached to them. Regardless, your guests will understand. Best of luck!

    Hi Lindsay,

I'm so sorry you had to change your plans, but you are not alone. Keeping a positive attitude (through a funny announcement) can only help during this unprecedented situation.

Here are a couple of discussions with postponement examples:

    - Coronavirus Postpone Announcements

    - Website Wording for Postponed Weddings due to COVID-19

You'll also find more information (less funny) here: How to Word Your Wedding Postponement Announcement. There's also a glass half-full perspective piece: “My Wedding Was Postponed Due to Covid-19, but Now I Get a ‘Do-Over’” (with a link to a video at the bottom).

I'm wishing you the best of luck! nLxcI1gBilPA_DYsaorCTBp6X1DzLckXmXiZsyyg
