Website Wording for Postponed Weddings due to covid

Lauren, on March 16, 2020 at 3:44 PM Posted in Planning 1 1

I am updating my website now for my postponed wedding (April 18th, 2020) we are considering 2021 if vendors and venue oblige. Now, I need help keeping guests informed. We do not want to go public with a new date in the midst of all of this but want to 1. Address that we are postponing due to virus 2. Want folks to check back for a date as things develop. 3. Understand guests RSVP will change due to this developing situation

Are any other brides using specific wording for their guests or website.

Thanks everyone!

This is what we sent out to our guests. We emailed guests we have emails for and will be sending out letters to the rest. We also posted this on our website. I hope this helps! Best of luck planning!!

    "Dear Family and Friends,

We hope you are doing well and staying healthy. It is with great difficulty that we share our decision to postpone our wedding due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it is for the best. Our priority is to keep our guests safe and healthy. We hope you understand and respect our decision.

We apologize if you have already booked travel arrangements and we hope you are able to cancel without incurring expenses. Many airlines are offering refunds or credits on flights due to the virus.

We invite you to join us for our wedding ceremony and reception on September 5, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Eight Leafed Clover in Risingsun, OH.

Please RSVP by August 15th on https://www.zola.com/wedding/nolanandmichelle or by calling/texting us at 419-806-9358. We understand if the change in date also changes your availability, but we hope you can still make it. We recommend you keep an eye on the status of the virus before making travel arrangements or choose a refundable option. We hope everything will calm down by September, but we aren't really sure what will happen.

We are excited to share our special day with you, even if we have to wait a few more months for it!"
