Coronavirus and Wedding gowns

Eshell, on February 26, 2020 at 7:05 AM Posted in Planning 1 18
Hello Ladies ! I was curious hoping no one out there is impacted by the Cornonavirus affecting their WEDDING GOWNS production and being shipped. My coworkers and I were talking about it yesterday because it was on our local news. They were saying it will impact the wedding industry.

I'm so glad I got mine early and it's safely hanging in my closet as we speak. The Bridesmaid dresses however are taking forever and the last one is scheduled (for now) to arrive just over 2 weeks prior to wedding date. Let's hope it doesn't get too bad for ordering and keep all those in China in our hearts, I cannot imagine.

I just ordered a Willowby dress & was told at this point the coronavirus is delaying dress shipments by 2-3 months - and it could be even longer depending on if the virus continues to progress! I had an appointment at the end of March to go back to the bridal salon and try on the dress again & get professionally measured, and order it; luckily, my bridal consultant was amazing and she actually called me to let me know about the delays and to offer me a sooner appointment to go in. But, since I live 6 hours away, I was finding it hard to get up there sooner, so I just ordered the dress over the phone. Hopefully they will get the virus under control soon! Otherwise, there are going to be a lot of brides who do not have their dresses in time for their weddings!

I haven’t even thought about this! My wedding is not until April next year. I was going to go dress shopping in July. I wonder if I should move that date up.

Thank you! 🙏🏻 I am so thankful for my bridal consultant – if she hadn’t told me about the delays, I never would have known! I was shopping the other day and a sales associate saw my ring and was asking me about my engagement. Turns out, she just got engaged as well. I made sure to tell her about the delays on wedding dresses, and she was SO thankful! She said she was going to call her bridal salon on her lunch break & move up her appointment ASAP

I'm getting married September 5 and ordered my dress back in November I was told May for a timeline it should be in, so I'm hoping even with a month or 2 delay it will still be here!
My bridesmaids ordered from davids and as of right now they don't think they'll be immediately impacted as they have factories in other countries, but over time everything will be affected because the fabric all comes from china. depending how long this lasts for, 2021 brides may want to look sooner than later. Good luck to everyone's dresses :-)

I saw an article online that said 2021 brides should start looking soon , just in case production times do increase more than they already have. My bridesmaid just ordered her bridesmaid dress from Azazie on Monday and the estimated production time/ arrival time is the first week in May. I'm curious if it will be here earlier like the one I ordered a while back for another wedding was.

I ordered my dress in late October and as of right now it is still supposed to come in mid March. However, the shop did say that they were getting a lot of delays and that if mine is delayed, worst case it will come by JUNE! Trying not to panic about that but if you are waiting to order I would go earlier rather than later!

I rush ordered my dress in the beginning of January for my September wedding, and the shop phoned me a few weeks ago to tell me it would be delayed. It should arrive about a month before the wedding, and they promised they could alter it in time. I am definitely panicking now, and just praying it'll arrive on time!

I bought local instead of ordering because of this, but I think I love my new gown better so it worked out. Smiley smile

I ordered my dress back in October and it was supposed to be here by mid Feb. When I called the shop, they were pretty much clueless only telling me "It should be here soon." I'm trying not to panic but I'm 6 weeks away from our wedding with no dress 😢

Oh my so sorry to hear. I would go try find another SPECIAL gown ... a sample off the rack ....as a back up plan JUST to be on safe side. IT sucks though cause it’s not a brand new one and the one you fell in love with. Sample would be the only way to go at this point that way you leave the store with your gown. Let’s try keep positive.
