Hi future brides. I am wondering if the coronavirus is interfering with your honeymoon plans?

I feel your pain. We had our first cancellations today. We have people from all over the world coming. I don’t even know how to go about things if there are lock downs or something similar. Our wedding is in three weeks. Good luck, with everything.

All up in the air , and not knowing is worse ! We are supposed to go to disney first then aruba , theres plenty of talk of disney closing but no official statements, so much planning and excitement for it to all get ruined, I'm so sorry to everyone in the same boat. Hope we can all make the best of the situation and enjoy the time no matter where we go !

Ours is booked for December this year. We’re getting married in October. All we put down was a deposit so far and I haven’t booked plane tickets yet. I’m hoping things settle by then but we might have to postpone. We are supposed to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. We’ll see..

We are crossing our fingers and hoping that the worst of it is over by the time ours comes around, which is planned for August. We are heading to Japan, so we are watching the Olympics to see what decisions that they make for it.

Yes, we have cancelled (/postponed) our dream honeymoon to the Galapagos. We asked all hotels and airlines etc for their refund policy first though, to ask for flexibility related to cancelling closer to the actual trip dates without putting more money down.

Yes, Greece in June. Since Greece (and the rest of Europe) is currently level 3 alert for traveling, means we won't be able to work for at least 2 weeks upon arriving back in the US. Neither of us can afford that. We also can't afford just canceling the honeymoon since we did not buy travel insurance (not that they cover epidemics anyways). This sucks.

We booked Italy for October! Hoping things go back to normal by then, but who knows. We are considering canceling flights, seeing how this pans out and reevaluating our plans.

We had to postpone our destination San Diego wedding on March 29th. We will now get married August 9th! As for the honeymoon, we have a nonrefundable reservation in Belize through hotels.com. However, I cannot get through to call anyone to see if we can postpone our trip to August and just change the dates of the honeymoon
I wonder if I am really out the price of the hotel for the week. Anyone else have this problem with hotels.com in this unique situation? Were you able to change your reservation?

Yes, our wedding is set for april 25th in NC, followed by a cruise out of Charleston SC the 27th! Right now they are allowing FCC to everyone who booked before march 3rd, and cruise til april 14th. But because my cruise is 13 days after that, I'm looking at a possible 50% penalty fee! So I hope I can reschedule it! I've emailed to see what my options are, awaiting reply. They dont want you to call until 7 days before hand. But when I called before they issued this, their lines were down because of so many calls. Just wondering if 7 days will be enough time to get in touch with someone.

We're booked for 10 days in Hawaii leaving the states April 28th right after what should have been our wedding that has been postponed. Hawaii just issued a travel recommendation to cancel all trips for the next 30 days so we're just waiting and seeing at this point if we're going to have to postpone and hoping June will be okay? I really don't want to wait any longer if we don't have to but I'm scared to rebook now and have to rebook again!!

Yes, had Bali planned in June. May just go to our family vacation home in Portugal, the something next year. I’m not sure that international travel will happen again until fall.

We got married on March 14, 2020, and our honeymoon was supposed to be March 16-20. We had booked and planned flying from TX to FL, and cruising to the Bahamas on Carnival Liberty. EVERYTHING changed quite quickly, because that was the weekend that everything quite literally hit the fan.

Because of all the panic leading up to the weekend of our wedding, my fiance suggested that we should cancel the cruise (but the call wouldn't even go through because Carnival was having phone issues because of long call lines). I went ahead and cancelled our round-trip flights.. and thank goodness for United, because after you cancel, you can use that same reservation number to re-schedule. (Because of COVID-19, all change fees are waived on that travel)

On March 13, at about 10:30 pm, Carnival sent me an e-mail that cancelled all cruises departing between March 14 & April 9 with 2 options: full refund or re-schedule with $300 on-board credit. We decided on re-scheduling, because we would still like to go on our actual honeymoon at some point when all this blows over. We made a quick trip up to Broken Bow, OK for our little "Plan B Honeymoon".

Overall, I think most travel and hotels are being MORE than accommodating since this is a world-wide pandemic. I hope you figure it out, and I hope that y'all still get to go!

We're booked for WDW in May, but WDW is currently closed. Holding out to see what happens because things could change in 6-8 weeks. Wedding is scheduled May 16, yet to postpone. Hoping all can go as planned, although, a lot of guests have canceled already.
