I don’t know about switch outs but I’ve seen a ton of unique unity ideas on this forum. I think it also winds down to if there’s something you’re particularly interested in and can incorporate such as if you’re artsy some ppl will paint a canvas together as their unity ceremony

We are doing a glass ceremony too. I found a seller on Etsy who is awesome. Then we have been going back and forth on favors too; we decided to put together small bags of popcorn as favors. With a sticker on the bag that says "thanks for popping by." We aren't going to go too far away from a traditional wedding but just a few unique things.

Can you share the Etsy seller you found? I am looking at the glass unity ceremony too and would love to look into other vendors for it.

OP - while doing some googling for blended family unity ideas I also came across some canvas painting ideas. A drop cloth, a blank canvas, a few bottles of paints and each of you squirt the paint onto the canvas and either let it drip or some used brushes to make some movement with it. You have a new piece of artwork you made together!

We decided not to to "unity" anything. We are surprising everyone with a song though. My 16 YO nephew will be playing guitar while my 17 YO daughter sings A Thousand Years. Even I haven't heard it yet - there won't be a dry eye in the place! No one knows it's coming except us and the pastor.

Here is the link for the glass. I haven't ordered from there yet, so I can't speak for how it turned out; but I am super excited to see how it turns out. The seller is also super responsive to questions. I had a question about the difference between opaque and translucent pieces and she answered my question within 3 hours.

Per our officiants suggestion (he's my cousin) we did a unity shot with him! It was fun and a great way to calm our nerves and brought some humor to the ceremony. I know it's not for everyone but it fit for us.
