Comparing Venue Options-possible App?

Breanna, on June 7, 2018 at 11:07 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
I am just beginning my wedding planning and the venue is my main focus. I have emailed every venue in town, but I'm trying to figure out a way to track and easily compare pricing, accommodations, and other venue ranks, etc. What did you do to track your venue comparisons? Is there an App for that??😂

I put everything onto an excel spreadsheet, I did this with all of my potential vendors. It was easy to keep track of everything. I know The Knot also has a "vendor manager" tab where you can go in and track comparisons with different venues and other vendors as well. I just found an excel spreadsheet to be the best for me because I could include the info I really wanted/needed.

I'd recommend Google Sheets. That way you have access to it whenever you have internet connectivity and you can edit things as you go. You can compare the features and pricing of each venue and keep their contact info in the same place.

I used Google Sheets, so I could share the information with my fiance & my mom in case they wanted to see anything. As soon as I was emailed information, I put it in my chart. We got information from around 30 venues and toured 5.

Google sheets! FH and I could both look at everything and add notes, prices, features, etc. as we thought of them. I also like being able to access it on my phone, laptop, or iPad too!

Another recommendation for Google Sheets. I have a wedding folder that I shared with FH and my mom, and a sheet that has tabs for each vendor where I put all the info to compare. It's really convenient to be able to access on my phone, too.

FH made a spreadsheet and that made it easy for us to view all options at one time. We listed the names of the places in the rows and made each column something that was important (catering at the venue, DOC, cost, additional rentals needed, etc). We colored certain boxes accorded to whether or not it was a pro or con for us and made decisions that way. Hopefully that helps.

What all did you list as your important columns? I don't know what all to be looking for.

Offbeat Bride has sample spreadsheets you can use in Google Drive. Use the tabs at the bottom to change spreadsheets (tab 5). You want to compare capacity, pricing, and what each venue has (bar package, catering level, rentals, etc.)
