Hello!! September wedding here we’re from Iowa but due to Covid have decided to “elope” and have an outdoor mountain top wedding. Has anyone ever planned for that? Any tips or tricks?

Ohhh this is great! In Colorado, an officiant isn't requiref so that's one less fee.

A big tip I have for you is tomake sure you have a permit, contract or something in writing clarifying the time, date and exact location you plan to elope.

I would highly recommend finding a photographer who has experience doing elopements to help you navigate all the legalities/take incredible pictures for you to remember. Check out @adventureinstead on Instagram for some awesome photographers. They’re based in CO and have so many awesome places to go/information to check out.

Hi Justine! I think your plans sound awesome!!

Have you considered hiring a planner with an elopement package that covers all of the details for you? Like the officiant, photographer, and recommending local sites? Here's more info on how they can help: Here’s Why An Elopement Planner Is Totally Worth It.

You could also reach out to an elopement photographer and see if they have location recommendations!

Great idea! Colorado is beautiful! An idea would be to rent a cabin and to elope there. I have a friend who eloped in this cabin and hired a photographer and it was beautiful! This one, in particular, is a bit bigger but has a great view and looked lovely in the pictures!
