Color scheme help!

Stefanie, on August 20, 2019 at 8:38 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hi everyone. I am stuck on color schemes. I am getting married April 2020 at a beautiful conservstory. I am a DIY bride on a budget. I have my dress and I am thinking of having my bridesmaids wear their favorite black dresses.

I can't decide on colors. The conservatory changes their flowers frequently so I am not entirely sure what they will have on my wedding day but I know they be bright spring flowers.

I love old world and romantic looks but I don't like pastels at all. I am also not a neutral person but I love black and white.

Black dresses would look classy in such a beautiful setting. What about them carry just a single white rose? Budget friendly and you won't need to worry about clashing with the scenery.

I’d ask them what they’ll have blooming around that time! They might not know super far ahead but I suspect some of it is seasonal (like the picture with tulips is probably spring). When you say romantic and not too bright this color popped into my head! Since you’re in a white dress I think having a little color would be lovely.

I really like the idea of having the bridesmaids carry a single or a bunch of white/ivory flowers. I think this will look beautiful against the black dress.

For your own bouquet, you could add some more color based on what is in-season. Here are two WeddingWire articles with some ideas on Spring flowers -

As Charlotte mentioned, I would also ask them what they will have blooming around that time. There may be some flowers they have every year that you could sue for inspiration!

Do you plan on DIYing your flowers?

I think black & white could look really great especially if you know your venue is already going to be super colorful. If you know in enough time, I might choose one of the really bright and bold colors there as a super small accent in your décor or maybe the flowers for the wedding party. I really like that red orange color on the flower on the right side of your fourth picture!
