Color scheme for wedding

Kiyome, on April 14, 2021 at 6:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 14
Hey everyone. So my fiance and I are going to be getting married in Vermont on December 10, 2022. I am trying to come up with a color scheme and can't choose. For decor "theme", we are wanting to do simple, cozy, and intimate winter. So candles, lanterns, pinecones, etc. So far I am leaning more towards green with the two light accent colors. I was thinking burgundy because I absolutely love the color, but Color scheme for wedding 1

I've decided I don't want it as a main color if that makes sense. I'm also thinking if we were to do just green and the accent colors, dresses worn by the bridal party could be in the accent colors. But I worry that the colors may not look flattering on everyone. Here are some inspo pics and the colors I am thinking. Any ideas and thoughts are appreciated!Color scheme for wedding 5

OK, first of all, I absolutely love the cozy winter vibe you are going for!! It was the only reason I contemplated having a winter wedding! as far as the bridesmaids dresses go, I feel like deep wine colors look good on every skin tone! (Pictures below)
A deep hunter green would look beautiful too.

The pictures you shared are gorgeous! I like the ivory/sage/beige/mauve but the burgundy is a beautiful rich color!

I got married in January for my first wedding and we did burgundy, gold and rose gold! A cozy, intimate, muted version could be greenery, burgundy and a muted pink like dusty or beige!

Ooo! Pretty! 😍 thank you for sending that! Do you think it would look good if we only did wine for the bridal party dresses and not in any of the decor?

The evergreen/taupe/burgundy combo is gorgeous! I don’t love the mauve with it, but that’s a personal preference I’d say.

Love the color scheme, and love these dresses! I think it would look fine with the dresses in wine and no wine in the decor. But if you did want to add it to the decor you could use hypericum berries - they’d be understated and fit with the overall cozy winter look.

I completely agree with this. I think it would be fine to just have the BMs in wine and not included it in decor. Or, you could include it very minimally. The suggestion of berries in the decor fits the theme perfectly and is a very subtle way to tie in the color of the BM dresses.

I’m Dec 4th in NH! We were originally leaning toward Christmas theme, but decided to more mountain theme as we love to ski! I’m going to have the girls in dark green. The guys will wear dark grey with dark green ties. The flower girl will be white and gold. Gold will be the accent color. The colors will mostly be natural so lots pine, pine cones and wood will be used in the decor.

I love burgandy and deep wine colors, but it may feel a little Christmasy so just something to keep in mind 😊

That sounds beautiful! Yeah we are thinking either dark green or burgundy as the main color and not together because I do think it looks too Christmasy. Haha. Yeah we are doing more of a mountain theme than Christmas theme too! We are planning on doing pinecones, greenery, and candles, lanterns, or lights!

Beautiful vision, Kiyome. You are ahead of the game, I'm stuck on colors.

    How about a Tuscany yellow?

I love the burgundy with the greenery/eucalyptus bouquets - I think if you mixed in the ballet pink/dusty rose it wouldn't read too "Christmasy" - maybe put your flower girl (if you're having one) in a dusty rose/pink dress to coordinate. If you do gold accents, maybe steer towards a lighter champagne than a true yellow gold. Bring in browns (pinecones in the bouquet?!) and you should be good.

I wouldn't put a bridesmaid in the taupe color or the ivories - I think you could easily do burgundy and dusty rose and lean heavy into the greenery in the floral accents with taupe, ivory, and brown accents on the ribbons. I love your inspo bouquet. Then for your venue or for decorations, you could go down the green direction, but it sounds like you want your bridesmaids in different colors.

But I agree with others here - lean into the spectrum of red and green (from dusty rose to burgundy, sage to forest green) and anchor it with brown, taupe, and ivory, maybe a sprinkle of champagne, and you'll be set!

(You're getting married on my birthday Smiley laugh )
