Color of undergarments

Most wedding dresses have enough layers that you don't have to worry about it. My SIL wore a really lightweight wedding dress that was chiffon with only one layer of lining, and wore blue bridal panties no problem. Unless your dress is very slinky or sheer in any way, I don't think you really have to worry.

Totally agree with Trena B. I had a white strapless bra and white thong underwear underneath my dress and no one could tell what I was wearing or the colour.

Go with white if you want.

Hi Deb! Do you have a picture of your dress that you could post? That would be helpful, though I agree with the first two ladies.

If you have access to your dress, try it on with colored underarments (any just to check) and go in your backyard or other brightly lit area and have a friend take a picture. You're probably fine, but we've all seen photos where a girl looked in the mirror before leaving the house, only to see in pictures later that her hot pink leopard print bra was showing through her shirt all night!! You definitely don't want that!!

I wore black panties to my first dress fitting just to see if they could be seen. Between the slip and the dress layers, they weren't noticeable at all. I agree with Stephanie, try it out if you have a change. Any color will probably be fine.

My dress is ivory and I'm wearing ivory panties and my garter belt is a very light blue, that holds up my stockings, I'm just having bra cups put in my dress

I think you will be fine - your dress isn't so thin that light would show the color of your undergarments.

Oh, that is satin, I don't think it matters! For chiffon you might have issues. But you heavy more than one thick layers.

You're wearing taffeta it won't matter what color you wear underneath.... I'm assuming since it's poofy you have layers under your skirt.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if you feel more comfortable in nude undergarments then go for it.

you can definitely wear a white bra under that, it's definitely not a sheer type of dress. also, i think white is better since your dress is white. if a peek of your longline bra shows, and it's white likw your dress, no one will notice. "nude" never really matches your skin so if a peek of a nude bra shows, it'll be obvious it's bra showing.

I dont like the color of nude but my sister aka MOH says it wont show as much as white will.

If we were talking about normal clothing, your sister/MOH would be right, but not with your wedding gown. neither color will show through that dress, even in the brightest light. the only thing you have to worry about is what might show when you move around, dance, etc. with a strapless dress there's a chance the top of your bra will show at some point. i think white looks much better than nude.
