We need hotel options for guests at 2-3 price points to appeal (in both price and amenities) to most guests. We want to provide our guests with at least one economical lodging option but we cannot afford to pay to lodge every guest. Our wedding planner promised to provide several lodging options for our guests. She’s only providing luxury hotels several times our guest’s budgets or entire fincas (like a rural B&B) for $350 for 5-7 rooms accommodating 27- 50 people. (50 people in 7 rooms???)
The problem is you have to rent out the entire finca. And they don’t break down prices by room or per person. I asked the wedding planner for suggestions on how this might work. Could we pay a deposit to reserve the finca, guests reserve and pay for their own rooms, and then have the deposit returned to us? She is ignoring those questions and just keeps sending more all-or-nothing finca options.
Renting for the group and collecting money seems risky and tacky. Other options? Ideas? Thanks!
