College Students

Hey! Are there any stressed out college students?

The wedding planning, homework, and work have me going crazy some days but it will all be so worth it.

What are you all going to school for and how is it impacting wedding planning?

I work full time at a hospital because nursing was my original major so I was exploring that but now I am becoming a special education teacher while continuing to work in the medical field for now. Smiley tongue

I’m going to school for English Education! This is my last semester, so I’m currently in my last internship. It’s very stressful because I go to school in a different state than my wedding! I did most of my planning last summer because I knew this would be a hectic time! I teach every day while working on my exit portfolio, so I’m glad I just have a few meetings and the last things you can only finish close to the wedding left! I’m graduating in May and my wedding is in June, so I have a fun couple of months coming up!

I have been taking breaks a lot in between semesters so I don't get too stressed and right now wedding planning has no deadline so i'm doing well right now but when it all gets closer I would imagine I go down to a class or two again! Full time interiir designer right now too at a furniture store!

I don't know how you manage! I graduated last May in mechanical engineering so I work full time now and I'm trying to start my own business. FH graduates in May in electrical engineering and I CAN'T WAIT. Its been really tough because we both don't have much free time. I plan during gaps at work.

I’m actually currently in nursing school while doing the whole wedding thing. It hasn’t been too bad because obviously school is my top priority. but with nursing school and all the work and clinicals that go along with it I always make sure each day to make time for myself, so sometimes that includes wedding planning, sometimes not.

Currently working full time and getting my MBA at night (but taking 9 hours, which is full time in grad). It’s definirely difficult to manage it all. I tried to do as many wedding errands as possible over Christmas break from school.

Same here! I'm a first year teacher and going to graduate school for Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media studies. I finish up the program from the summer at the beginning of May, finish up work for the school year at the end of May, and then I have the summer to get all the last little stuff done before the wedding in August. I told my fiancé that we were lucky that we've had a such a long engagement or else I don't think things would have gotten done (and thank goodness for breaks).

It's hard not to get stressed out, but remember that it will all work out how it's supposed to! We'll look back five years from now and not even remember how stressed we were.

I am currently going back to school for Hospitality Management! I am working a full time, a part time and I am a full time student to help save for the wedding. With winter, working all those hours and school work wasn't too bad, but now that its getting nicer out I am having more trouble staying focused! Wedding is in July, so the end is near!

I am currently going to school for my bachelors in chemistry. It’s super stressful to do everything which is part of the reason our wedding is so far away (December of 2020)!

Yeah this is definitely my last semester of 4-5 classes at a time before wedding. I may take one summer class then I think I've decided to take one class next semester so I'm not freaking out the week of my wedding lol.

That was smart! I did the same thing. Right now I am just sticking to my budget and saving money / paying money directly to vendors whenever I planned to in advance so I'm not having to figure out how to pay now that I'm back in school.

You're right! I always think about sitting in my new house with my future daughter after a long day of teaching looking at the wedding pictures on the wall lol. It will all be worth it!

I'm in school for sport psychology and it's been crazy trying to plan a wedding, work on my thesis, apply to doctoral programs, and apply for jobs. Luckily I'm a full-time online student so I don't have to be anywhere really, but staying and home and doing school-related things and planning a wedding all week has got me stir crazy!

Oh yay! I’m actually i school to teach elementary! I’m actually working 2 jobs one at a chiropractor office and the other at a spa as a massage therapist. I have 2 aunts that have been doing pretty much all the DIY projects for the wedding so I haven’t had to much stress wedding planning. However with school and 2 jobs, that’s been the majority of the stress. i’m just a short 8 days from wedding tho!
    Good Luck to you!
