College mascot at reception?

So almost all of the guests at the wedding are Buckeyes and the wedding is on OSU campus... but it might be obnoxious to have Brutus Buckeye show up to the reception briefly (he'll be wearing a tux). My parents really want to do it and think it might be cute for Brutus to get people dancing after...

My parents really want to do it and think it might be cute for Brutus to get people dancing after dinner. What do you think? Laughing as I'm posting this...

Please no mascot at your wedding. Let him come to your July 4th picnic/ barbeque.

I went to a wedding that had a pro-team mascot show up for about 30 minutes. The couple and their family are huge fans of the team, season ticket holders. Tons of people loved it. He was on the dance floor and taking pictures with people. Personally I hated it because mascots freak me out, but I think it was perfect for them and the overall vibe of their wedding fit this type of thing.

ETA: I just wanted to say, based on earlier comments, that my school is in the SEC as well (although they recently joined and the school was in the Big 12 before that) and I can verify that SEC fans LOVE their mascots. But like I said earlier, mascots freak me out so while I love our teams and support them I do not want to be near the mascot.

FH and I both went to FSU and there will be no white people dressed as Native Americans at our reception.

My sister went to Ohio State and from my experience living in a city with a ton of OSU alumni, this would be a huge hit.

ETA- FH and I went to a college with a "popular" mascot (WVU Mountaineers) and many of our guests are WVU alumni... but I don't want the Mountaineer showing up at my wedding. So I guess it really is a 'know your crowd' type thing.

Huge thanks everyone for helping me out with this!! I think we're going to do it. He will only be there for 15 minutes later in the evening and I think everyone will love it.
