Coffee Bar at reception...

Lynsey(almost)Hernandez, on October 21, 2015 at 3:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 30

What would you want to see on a coffee bar, if you were my guest?!

help! wedding is this Saturday & Friday I need to finish up the coffee barSmiley smile it's just little something extra, not a huge deal.

So far I have starbucks style disposable cups, there will be 2-3 urns with coffee, caramel syrup, sugars....

I planned to get a couple flavored creamers, 1/2 & 1/2, and whipped cream. There will also be 2 trays of cookies cut in 1/2, just a variety of cookies (cookie tray from Costco actually)

What am I missing?!!!

    Mmmm pirouline sticks <3

I thought maybe caramel, or chocolate sauce for drizzling on top? I also don't want to add too much and have no one even utilize this little fun station Smiley sad expect me, I bleed coffee, FH doesn't even drink coffee LOL

This my be a "duh" but please have sugar AND at least a couple of each different sweetner (pink/blue/yellow/green). Most people do have a preference. It kills me when I go to a restaurant and there is no Splenda because it is the only thing I use in everything (coffee, hot/cold tea).

Our venue is doing one of these for us, but including cordials, sambuca, bailey's etc and a bartender. The toppings will be whipped cream and "cinnamon sugar sprinkle".

Could you also have decaf? Some people can't have caffeine but would love to partake!

This sounds amazing! I'm a coffee fanatic and don't drink alcohol, so I'd be ridiculously happy to see this at a reception. As long as you've got 1/2&1/2 and a variety of sweeteners, I'd be happy. Decaf is a good idea, too. Three days until your wedding—so exciting!

Ohhh... I'm totally jealous right now. I'm such a coffee fiend.

Other than what you have listed, as a guest I'd like to see various sweeteners, cinnamon, and I love biscotti to dip. (The cookies could fulfill that desire, but the biscotti crunch is oh so satisfying)

I was thinking the same thing as @Alyson + brown sugar and milk (cream is too heavy for me sometimes...but I'm not one of your guests so it doesn't matter, but maybe others prefer milk over cream).

    ooo & stir sticks.....that's all I got.

    I love this idea @Lynsey(almost)Hernandez!

I suggest regular milk ~ or something non-sweetened. I drink my coffee black, or with a tiny bit of milk if it's a bitter blend.

Your set up sounds awesome and fun! Smiley smile

Like @Lauren said: make sure one of the coffees is decaf! If I was out late at night I wouldn't want to drink caffeine, but I love the idea of a coffee bar. I also don't drink alcohol, so this would be where I would be heading! My suggestion was going to be flavored creamers, but you already covered that. It sounds delicious!

My venue includes it and they have the chocolate dipped spoons, various liqueurs, whipped cream- all the previously mentioned stuff. They also add hot cocoa which is a nice touch for the non coffee drinkers who want something sweet.

    Love the shaker ideas!

Of course there will be different sugar packets.

Dang, I probably don't have time to do the chocolate spoons??

Do you have any guests that can't have dairy? It makes me so sad when I go somewhere and they don't have a milk alternative Smiley sad Almond milk, coconut, or even a non-dairy creamer.

@swolemates thanks! Great idea! The coffee mate flavored creamers are generally dairy free I believe but I'll def double check, or just head to whole foods for an awesome alternative!

I love the natural (raw) sugar. I can't use the fake stuff and for really strict vegetarians/vegans you can't do white sugar. So when I see the raw sugar I get so psyched!!

Also, decaf. Not everyone likes or can drink caffeine (esp in the evenings).

Just make sure it is GOOD coffee lol. All the milk/cream/sugar in the world can't make a bad coffee taste good.

    Yes, I'm a coffee snob.
