Cocktail Hour/ Reception Card

Amanda, on October 7, 2011 at 12:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Is it a MUST to put on the reception card that there will be a cocktail hour and if so how would I word it? Or do I just leave it as "Reception at 5pm"?

My ceremony is at 4pm

Cocktails 5pm (same venue as ceremony)

Dinner at 6pm

Thanks for your help!

If it is at the same location, back to back, you can just have your invite and at the bottom have "Reception to Immediately Follow Ceremony" *no separate reception card needed

There is no need to have extra card or write it on invitation about the cocktail separately.......It’s more then sufficient to write “ Reception to Follow”..........This way guests would know that reception follows immediately after the ceremony and you can serve the cocktails and dinner after wards...........

I only wrote reception immediately following on my invites, I did mention the cocktail hour on my website though
