clutches instead of flowers? Opinions please!

Jessica H, on March 3, 2012 at 10:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I am having an outdoor wedding. I was thinking about getting my BM's a clutch to carry instead of flowers that would double as their BM gift! What do you ladies think of this idea? I found some on etsy that i can customize...they look something like this!

I think its a great alternative to having flowers... I know that I debated over this same thing because I wanted them to have something they could use later... who really knows what happens to those old BM's bouquets?

Right? i figure after the ceremony the flowersjust sit on the table at the reception....and then get thrown away eventually...my MOH said she hates the idea because she will feel like a guest arriving late instead of a BM. but whatever...i like the practicality of it, and the fact that they wont have to keep track of their purses and flowers all night!

I have never seen this done before and it does seem odd. If your worried about them just forgetting the flowers why not do fake flowers that they can keep as a keepsake?

What if you gave them little pin on corsages as well if your MOH is afraid of looking like a guest

@ Erin F. im not worried about them forgetting about the flowers, i just think after the ceremony the flowers just sit there and go to waste....and I saw it on my fair wedding...lol

@Kimber thats a thought...but idk if that would be too promish with a corsage? idk i may just get my MOH a small bouquet and have the rest of my BM carry the clutches!

I'm doing the same thing, after I too saw it on my fair wedding. I'm a little more practical and would rather them use that then a bunch of flowers that will die!

You could use your BM bouquets to decorate your cake table, etc.

The clutches are cute, but I think they would work better with a mother than a BM.

I LOVE this idea!!! and as your MOH is special why not still get her the clutch so she matches in the pics and as it is doubling as their gift anyway and then have her carry the bouquet down the aisle. OR have the florist make an instert of flowers like this

Or, you can combine a clutch with the flowers.
