Clip In Hair Extensions

Kim, on May 16, 2013 at 7:42 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I really want to wear clip in human hair extensions on the wedding day but I've never used them. Anyone know of good brands or places to buy them?

Sally Hansen Beauty supply has some nice clip ins that are real hair. They have them in different lengths too.

We use several brands. The main thing you want to look for is that they are 100 percent remy human hair which is higher quality. Also compare the length and amount in grams that you are getting.

We use clip in extensions on our clients that are in several pieces so they can be placed throughout the head for a natural blending of the extension and client hair. I would not suggest getting a one strip extension unless you plan on having it colored with your hair to match exactly.

I ordered some from Luxy Hair a little while ago and was really happy but there are several great companies online that sell clipin hair for way below retail.

I am confused by the wavy/straight ones. Do all of them have the ability to be curled?

I have mine from Sally Beauty Supply. They arent the BEST quality, but I have had mine for over 4 years, i wear them around 5 times a year, and they still look great, for about a third of the price. You just have to take really good care of them.

Mine curl pretty good. I use hairspray to hold the curl.

If you plan on coloring, you only have one or two chances to color them, so get that by someone who knows that they are doing. and you can only go darker, not lighter.

I'm either going today or this weekend to Sally's.. I need clip in extensions too and I looked into alot of websites including luxy hair.. I was going to purchase luxy but after looking at reviews I heard they shed like crazy.. So Sally's it is.

My hair stylists tell me to buy mine at Sally's for the wedding. I was just looking at the website for them because I'm thinking of getting them soon to do a trial.

All human hair has the ability to be curled/styled just as your normal hair would.

The shedding of extensions is really more due to the user than the company making them. If you do not properly care for your extensions they will start shedding etc within a few uses. Clip in extensions are good for about a year if you wear them on average 2 times a week and properly care for them.

I'm thinking I'll probably order the Bellami hair extension, it's one of the few brands that I haven't heard any negative reviews on and I know someone who has them and her hair looks awesome

I got the real hair ones from Sallys, dyed the suckers and curled them the day of. I don't think you can tell they're fake. I can try to find a picture somewhere...

You can get an idea here. I believe my hair was about 2-3 inches past my shoulders this time naturally and when it was straightened. I also have naturally very thick hair that is slightly textured. If your hair is thin, you might have to take some extra time hiding the clips. Fortunately, I could probably hide a sparrow in my hair if I needed to.

You should go to milanihair.com. I purchased their 20'' #4 Milk Chocolate hair extensions. It came with 7 wefts/clips and since the hair is 100% remy hair, you can treat it as if it is your own hair and cut/color/dye it to your liking. Also, you can so easily clip them in and it looks as if it is just your own hair- IT IS AWESOME. BEST PURCHASE I HAVE MADE!

    Here is their website: http://milanihair.com/default.asp

I have my own hair salon in London and I apply my own innovation Advance MicroBonds'™ there. I think the technique will suite most people for permanent hair extensions without any glue or chemicals.

Sally's doesn't have a great selection...but they are cheaper there. I got mine at a beauty supply store. The wavy ones curl better in my opinion...find a local beauty supply. I can tell you names if you're in Kansas City or Sacramento....other than that, I haven't a clue

How much are the good ones from Sally's?! I'm debating maybe trying those first before paying the big $$$ on the Bellami's

I made my own with wig clips, human hair weave(tracks) and needle and thread. Look on YouTube for reviews or tutorials on how to make them....good luck!

I bought Glam Time hair extensions about 6 months ago and have absolutely become addicted. They have held up super well, although I recently broke one of the the clips (will just buy one from sally's and re-sew it on.) I have VERY fine hair but lots of it, and am using the extensions mostly for thickness rather than length. These ones have been easy to curl and straighten with heat (haven't tried rollers though.)

I bought the 160gm set for $129, but it is actually too much hair for my head, so I don't use 1-2 of the wefts. They also sell a 120gram set for $109.

Not sure what your hair colour is, but I have dark brown hair and their "dark brown" was actually too light for me. It worked well though - I put foils in them, then dyed the rest of the hair (not in the foil) with my usual colour. Now I have highlights!

Just a note: as I mentioned, my hair is very fine and smooth, so in order to make the extensions stay in without being nervous about pulling them out, I backcomb the roots where I will put them in, spray it with hairspray, then clip the weft in. Just a hint in case you also have fine hair.

I know I commented in here before but I did go to Sally's and purchased the Euronext 18 inch clip in extensions..they are so much better than I expected and they gave me the thickness and fullness I wanted..where I live they are on sale $10 off and if you use your Sally's beauty card they are another $15 off.
