Clapping during the wedding precession

Lol no. Maybe they were just happy to see the grandparents make their way down and just felt like they had to continue for the bridal party.

My FSILs were confused by it and so were some of the cousins. This was my first time meeting the bride's side of the family so I'm not sure if this was normal for them or not.

Whitney, I was wondering the same thing! Or maybe the Grandparents had extenuating circumstances that they overcame and were able to make it and those who knew about it were so overcome with joy that they started clapping so others followed suit

... like when you go to someone elses church for Christmas and you kneel when they do, stand when they do , kneel back down again ... then stand up again ... then you think they are going to sit so you sit and they are genuflecting so you pop back up ...

I've never seen this but it literally happened at my own wedding.

ETA : grandparents didn't walk. They clapped for everyone except me and my dad...awkward haha

Whitney might be on the right track. It was just so weird. I joked with FH that if it happens on our day I will have everyone start over without the awkward clapping!

Is there music playing while people walk down the aisle? If they start at your wedding, have the officiant kindly quiet everyone down. Like pregame him/her for that! Haha
