Hi! We are looking at doing a destination wedding in Mexico the first week of May. We will expect most guests to make it a week long vacation of a Saturday to Saturday (May 2-9), but know some guests will make it shorter due to money and work. We are looking to get married on Monday or Tuesday that week so people can come on Saturday but only stay 3-4 nights if that's all they can do. That Tuesday will be May 5th. I know that Cinco de Mayo is not Independence Day, it commemorates a battle and is not a national holiday in Mexico. I just want to ensure I am being culturally appropriate and not offensive by having a wedding on May 5 in Mexico.
Thanks!
