Chuppah help!!

Sharlenn, on August 7, 2012 at 9:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Ladies, I have been on here for a while but I have never posted a topic but I am in need of help! I know you guys are very very helpful to another WW lady in need and I really need help. Here is my issue....I need a chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy). We are getting married under a gazebo (main pic) and I was originally going to put the chuppah in the gazebo. That way I would only need the fabric cover and I could use the four columns as the posts. Now I am concerned that it won't look right. Most of the pics I have seen show the chuppah in front of the gazebo. Now I am scrambling to find a chuppah with poles and I can't seem to locate anyplace that has them.

I'm not really interested in making my own. I would prefer renting one but from where! We're in Philadelphia and getting married in Hamilton, NJ (Mercer County). Does anyone know where I could rent one in this area? FH is Jewish and I really want this as part of the ceremony.

Any help is greatly appreciatedSmiley smile

Well, a quick search for chuppah rental Hamilton NJ found this place, which rents them.

Or check with your local synagogue. Even if you're not getting married there, they should be able to tell you where you can rent a chuppah.

    Or most florists have them.

Or try a local party rental place. We ended up making our own (as shown in my icon). But when we checked around before doing that, we found that party rental places often had the least expensive rates for rentals.

Mazel Tov Sharlenn! A chuppah is a beautiful jewish wedding tradition and there are lots of options you can choose from. You can check out the local listings on mazelmoments - a website for planning Jewish weddings and events - http://www.mazelmoments.com/vendors/browse/flowers-decor

Some vendors you might want to contact are My Own Chuppah, Blooming Brides Florist, Jazzflower, Josh & Co. and Artison Flowers, to name a few that have beautiful options for NJ weddings.

Oh you ladies are awesome!! I don't know why I didn't think of my florist!! I just called and had to leave a message. I am hopeful! I am also going to check out the other places everyone mentioned. So what does everyone think about putting the chuppah in the gazebo. I saw one pic where is was dones. Has anyone ever seen this? Do you think my original idea about placing the chuppah inside the gazebo with the columns decorated in fabric could work? I just love the gazebo.
