How did other brides successfully decide on a color scheme? Was it through your florist?

Color schemes are usually affects what your wedding party, your stationery, your decor, and your florals.
With my husband we decided we wanted navy for our tiny wedding party, and things stemmed from there. We used a secondary color yellow/gold and a tertiary color cyan.
Ultimately choosing floral color palette was the most difficult for me, and decided only a month before the wedding but came together wonderfully. Florals ended up being a mix of muted and bright colors: cream, gold, deep pink, dusty blue and baby, and wine.
It's easy to get caught up in all the different trends but be true to what you and your spouse loves.

I think you should think about asking your florist what’s in season but they’re pretty creative and knowledgeable and can probably find you something regardless

its really up to what you like

if you read threads there are brides that set it and others that change repeatedly lol

While you don't have to base it on season, I did want to go off of spring colors since we're getting married in March. I just went on Pinterest, looked up spring wedding colors, and tons of color palette pictures came up. I picked a bunch of my favorites them showed them to my fiancé and we picked from them together!

Nope. Our theme and venue inspired our colors.

The theme of our destination wedding was "Pirates of the Caribbean" and our reception was in a wine cave. We went with orange, gold, brown. A photo collage of our wedding:

Our local reception was a swanky "Rat Pack" nightclub theme. We went with black, white and a splash of polka dots:

If you have a wedding style or theme in mind (retro, modern, nautical, fairytale) that can help. You may also want to wait until you choose your venue to ensure your colors don't clash. Welcome to WW and happy planning!

I just went on Pintrest and found a color scheme I like right away, but I'm sure there are other ways of doing it. Smiley smile

I picked lavender/lilac/orchid because my FH loves how it compliments my skin tone. Then I went looking for accents on pinterest and decided on gray.

If you are totally unsure, head to Pinterest cuz they have a ton of color scheme swatches to be inspired by. Your florist can help you find flowers to fit your colors that are also in season, but they’re going to need a little inspiration from you to get started. I don’t have a theme for my wedding but I had my colors and some inspiration pictures from Pinterest and she was able to get me a quote from that. You’ll also want your colors chosen before you get your bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s tuxes.

There is a great app you can download called coolors that allows you to play with what colors go well together. I used it to out together this palette.

My colors were inspired by the movie Tangled lol! My engagement ring is the Rapunzel ring from the Disney collection, so it inspired the whole color scheme for our wedding! Lavender and gold like Rapunzel's dress Smiley smile

My dress had an ice blue underskirt, so the color palette started with that. My FH is an artist so we started thinking of complementary colors which eventually led us to choosing burgandy as our other main.

We went with the color of our auras (blue and green) then added purple (because my name is Amythest, like February's birthstone) then added an accent color gold.

We our palette is based on our favorite colors, what we normally wear, and how good my FH looks in them. Burgundy was our first pick then plum, mustard yellow, and navy.

Ours is going to bases around Christmas and winter colors without being to cheesy- rich reds and greens, metallics, and winter florals.

I think I'm the odd woman out here, but we don't have a theme/ color scheme. While FH insisted on wearing a green tie (his favorite color) and my BMs are wearing navy (my favorite colors), our centerpieces are white (not green or blue) as are all of the linens. Invitations were white, navy and silver just because we found an invitation we liked. I don't personally think everything needs to be matchy matchy, just look good together.
