Would it ve okay to just say 'A childrens meal of Chicken Fingers and fries will be provided'. Or should it say something different?

    Omygoodness lol

At the end of the day, if I were a kid, and I really wanted what was on my moms plate.... I'd just take a bite! Lol bam! My curiosity is quenched and I can enjoy my kids meal. With a Shirley temple. Yaasss.

Also, cocktail hour is usually a thing, so the kids will have eaten that as well. I'm sure. Andddd then the magical dessert and cake. The only things kids care about anyway. Haha

@JPCD oh my god I forgot all about Shirley Temples. I loved those things when I was a kid.

    I want one now.

Question for those of you who are parents, which kids meals would you prefer for your kids to eat?Chicken fingers definitely seem to be the least messy, but are there any other meals your little one might be able to eat successfully (i.e. grilled cheese, mini sliders, etc)?

I appear to be late to the party, and I'm sure we got to the point already, but I would like to add some things. There's nothing wrong with a kid's meal for kids or chicken fingers/tenders. We're offering chicken tenders and fries to the kids at our wedding. FH is kind of sad that he doesn't have that option to have the kid's meal. @StPaul - is that like the same thing, but in reverse? That an adult doesn't have the option to have a kid's meal?

I'm sorry @Mrs.K your thread got hijacked lol.

I think it would be nice to provide the option of a kids meal, but definitely don't think it should be required for kids. They should be included in your total guest count and budgeted for as such. Our meal will be lobster and fillet, two of my favorite foods as a kid. I would be super bummed to have to sit at a table of people eating that when I was stuck with something I can get at the 99 or mcdonalds.. or anywhere really.

Now kids should get lobster and filet? GAWD!

P.S. I am so, so glad and thankful we did age 21 and up.

I literally have homemade chicken tenders in the oven.

No fries though. Had those yesterday.

@Dreamer I'm not having kids at my wedding and don't think my caterer even has a kids meal, so maybe I shouldn't get a say. I think under 5/6 is a different story but by then I could easily eat a full plate and follow with dessert.

@Paige, my son will eat pizza, steak, chicken, turkey, fries, buffalo wings, meat balls, turkey meat balls, fish sticks.....SOMETIMES grilled cheese...

Ironically enough he's not a huge fan of chicken fingers...He'll only eat them sometimes...

However, I, as a parent, chose the least messy option.

I know that feeding a toddler anything 'messy' is hard enough on a regular day and usually ends in a bath, let alone while their wearing fancy clothes.

Punkin- I'm totally jealous right now

My 3 year old nephew only eats ham and cheese sandwiches cheeseburgers Mac and cheese and fries.

He definitely wouldn't eat anything from the adult menu but the bread

I'm so glad I stumbled into the thread.

As someone that works with 96 children (aged 1-5) chicken tender day is the favorite lunch day and every single one of those 96 children eat their chicken tenders and fries.

The kids at my wedding will be getting a personal pizza and apple slices. All the parents love that idea because it's easy. FFS, why does a 4 year old need a $200 steak plate ?

In my head "tiering food options" would be like:

    Adults get fully catered meal

Children get selfcatered nonsense that Aunt Betty made yesterday and then left in her trunk for the duration of the ceremony

For the families wanting healthy foods, these probably aren't the frozen crap chicken fingers, they are more likely real chicken, breaded and yes, fried. My nieces love veggies, so the venue is giving them a plate of sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes and baby carrots with it.
