Chiavari chairs for Tent/grass Wedding?

HAILY, on June 15, 2018 at 3:10 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

I love the Chiavari chairs for the guest tables, but I'm concerned that there might be issues since our reception will be on grass. Has anyone had issues with the Chiavari chairs on grass?

So the gold chiavari chairs are standard at my venue. I'm getting married on the patio at my venue, where I can use the chairs. However they don't allow the chairs to be used in the grass because they could be stained. If I would've decided to hold the ceremony on the grass by a giant tree, I would've had to rent other chairs. You might want to ask your venue or wherever you're renting them from if you're allowed to use them in grass.

Hi Annie, thanks for your reply! We are having our reception at a private residence so we don't have that problem but I will check with my rental company!

    I'm worried they might "sink."

My wedding is indoors for that exact reason (besides I fact I hate outdoors) most places wouldn't let you rent them for an grassy outdoor wedding. Have you thought about the white folding chair instead?? This definitely is a question for whomever you are renting from!

They will especially if someone is slightly heavier... Also, think about if it rains say the day before or the morning of. That would not be good!

From what I've read they don't sink. However, I would check with the homeowner (if other than you) to see if they are ok with it since they might damage the grass. Also, check with the rental company and see what their experience is.

Thank you for your reply! We have considered the white chairs but prefer the look of the Chiavari. Since our wedding is not until August 18, I think we will wait until end of July/beginning of August for a better idea of the weather and make our decision then!

My venue has the option for Chiavari chairs and they have many outdoor on the grass receptions. I don't have experience with them yet lol. But I'm assuming if they've done it before and had issues they wouldn't offer them.

We’re renting chiavari chairs for our indoor reception. It’s in the contract that we can’t have them outside.

I’d look into renting a floor for inside the tent. Just grass could get messy and uncomfortable for guests.
