Cheesecake wedding cake

cLe2018, on June 28, 2017 at 8:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

Has anyone ever done this or looked into it? The FH and I both love cheesecake but wonder if it would be a hassle because I'm guessing cheesecake has to stay in the fridge and then de-thew as opposed to a regular cake.

My fmil wanted to make us cheesecake for our wedding cake. I am not fond of the idea. And depending on the way the cake is made, it can sit out for a little bit, but it will get melty if it's out too long. And you want to think about how many people you need to feed it too, it's too heavy to stack. And do you want fruit toppings?

Maybe talk to a local baker about their opinions. But I agree, it would be too heavy to have tiers. We are having a dessert bar, so maybe that's an option. So there's something for everyone

One of my good friends did this! They had a small one tier cutting cake and then the servers brought out cheesecake slices for everyone and toppings (chocolate sauce, caramel, and cherries in sauce) for each table to use!

You're my dessert twin. lol I love cheesecake and would love to have that as our wedding cake. But the refrigerator part, alas I'm thinking of doing the little cheesecake bites in cupcake form. It's my wedding and by god I want my favorite dessert! Lol

Thanks for the feedback ladies. Cassidy, That's how I feel - I'll be watching what I eat leading up to the wedding and I'll want to eat dessert at the wedding and it should be my favorite which is cheesecake! The cheesecake bites are a great idea!

My cousin had mini cheesecakes for their wedding dessert. They had like 5 different kinds (plain, chocolate, w/ strawberries, etc) and they were supper good!

We had a dessert bar and one of the options was cheesecake bites (2" rounds) and they were a hit. Also I went to a wedding once that had a cheese cake bar and they had each one on its own cake stand, not tiered. I think it will be fine if they are put out right before guest arrive and if its air conditioned (which I hope it would be anyway) they are not going to instantly melt.

We always talked about having a cheesecake wedding cake but now that we're engaged and planning I think we might use the regular cake that comes with the venue and offer cheesecake as a desert. I just wanna eat it so I don't need it to be on display lol.
