Hi Rio! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement!

Are you thinking a venue for both the ceremony and reception? Or just a reception venue? & How many are on your guest list? Smiley smile

I had the same issue. People told me to try non-profit places. I am doing Orcutt Ranch which is helping us on cost. Grace E Simmons is another idea or other local "non-profit" places because they do not charge the normal tax most places do etc.

    Sorry longer post below....

    Brand park community center
    Orcutt Ranch
Heritage House Museum and Gardens (found this to be best price because you can set up day before I think and they do not charge etc. It is in SLO though I believe. Sister looked at it and said it looked but old though so perhaps check pictures, etc. if interested).
    exposition park rose garden
    grace e simmons lodge
    friendship auditorium
    wattles mansion
    averill park
    angels gate park

    point fermin park

San Fernando Valley. Maybe around 2-5k isn’t that bad. Btw, were cutting down guests to 100.

Wow! Thanks Nadia! really helps! Im actually eyeing Orcutt Ranch too! My only concern is our wedding is on November, outdoor at night, and its going to be super cold. I looked for Rental Heaters but I dont know if those will be enough to keep everyone warm. I dont want anyone chilling on that day lol

Sure no problem. I can get you the pricing when I get home since it is in my binder. Orcutt should be about $2,100 or so and then you get deposit back if you leave the place clean and everyone out on time (10:30 unless you pay for more time I think)...deposit is $500.. The $2,100 should be for about 6 hours and any time after that you just pay $150. There are pros and cons but the pros are that you can find your own vendors (except you can only select from 2 bar tending companies as they are through the city) because they do not provide anything. I jut find myself needing to be diligent in keeping cost down because it can get out of hand - for example renting chairs etc. But so far it is great! They have certain noise level you have to follow. I think you can bring in heat warmer things - I have seen them in their pictures before. Nice thing is you can get married outside and party inside or can party outside or both so you have various options. If you do decide to go with them I just found a coordinator who is very familiar with the place - "Magical Events by Yami". She is $1,200 for wedding coordinating day of and she also provides a booth as she owns this I think. She brings in ppl to help run this. I thought that was a great deal. Or you don't have to do booth through her. I do see what you are saying about it being cold... I saw at one wedding they provided blankets during ceremony. Anyway probably more information than you want but hope this helps. Also Grace E Simmons was indoor for the entire reception and they do provide chairs.

Good morning, I looked into the garden room, they have two locations one in Garden Grove and one La Habra.. I only visited the Garden Grove location because it was slightly closer to me. Dont quote me, its been a few months since we've visited but on average the food was about 25-39 per person, which I didnt think was bad at all. They have ceremony and reception options... I wish I could tell you more but a lot of it is a blank now. sorry
