Just need to have a place to have the ceremony and the reception for under 1k why is this so hard to find? Is it even possible.

    Hi Kyla!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

    You’re flying through the planning!

Community halls are typically super affordable venues, have you looked into any in your local area?

If you are in the north east part of the state, I've booked Goeglein's Homestead. Outdoor space ($300) for ceremony and lower floor reception ($600) AND they do catering! Really good place and food for that price.

What area are you located in? I live in southern Indiana and have seen plenty of small reception/community halls charge between $300-1000. I think it is definitely doable for you especially in Indiana!

Location would be helpful and season you want to get married. There’s a few options:

    1. A park that has a gazebo. I find gazebos beautiful and most will also provide chairs for guests.

    2. A courthouse. I’m doing this to take the cheap route myself.

    3. An outdoor area - beach, lake, etc.

If you only have 50 guests then you can just treat them to a nice(ish) restaurant afterwards!

To save myself money we’re doing a courthouse wedding (which costs $100 for the wedding and $18 for license) and then treating our 30 guests at a delicious local restaurant afterwards! The private room rental was $100 but the food shouldn’t go over $1000. You might just have to call around.

    Hey Kyla,

I would definitely suggestion community center rooms/halls!

Try a brewery if you want more of an industrial feel. Indiana City Brewing starts at only $750 and you choose your own catering. Restaurants are usually pretty inexpensive too.

Eagle Creek Hide Away in Indy is perfect for that size and is a great price. We would have booked it but we are having 250 attendees.

Also Hummel Park in Plainfield has a nicd outdoor pavilion and indoor area you can rent.
