My fiancé and I are getting married next October.. And we are trying to find save the dates. We are on a tight budget, so I was wondering if anyone had an idea for inexpensive save the dates??

Our Save the dates were FREE. can't get cheaper than that. Yes there were online. I used paperless post to create a beautiful digital card with our picture on it. Everyone got the message Smiley smile

Save money and trees...use paperless when you can Smiley smile (I would NOT recommend paperless for the formal invitation though) Although, I'm a fan of online RSVPs

Zazzle and vistaprint usually have some good deals especially if you do postcards which will also save you on postage. Weddingchicks has some cute free templates that you can print yourself at home or take the file somewhere to print.

We used Staples. I was able to pick them up in the store the next day. We sprung for fancier envelopes than what they came with because they were pretty and self adhesive. The save the dates were about 50 cents each not including the fancier envelopes.

We just printed out pictures at our local Walmart. We are having a very non traditional wedding and have a board game theme. My fiance has some Photoshop skills and made the picture look awesome. I can also second the person who said zazzle is a good source we did all of our wedding invitations through them as well as RSVPs and it was extremely reasonable for around 100 invites Smiley smile

I ordered 85 STD for 35 bucks through zazzle.

There was a mistake made on the STD and they shipped me another set of 85. Now I have like 100 std remaining.

My friends just did a paperless post online save the date, which was also a great way for them to get up to date addresses. If I'll do them, they will be online.

A Save-the-Date e-vite is a great idea. Especially for a tight budget. A friend of mine did that with their wedding and then mailed out invites when the time came. E-vites are free! You can't do any better than that. I will be sending out Save-the-Date e-vites here in a few weeks.

Got mine on zazzle.com , purchased a voucher thru groupon. They were $24.99 for 75 including shipping and envelopes. Check the selection before you purchase the groupon since it's only valid on a certain selection. One of the selections is upload your own, so I through mine together in word.

Here's a picture of them (they look much better in person, stupid cell phone pics)

I used Shutterfly. They have great deals quite often and they're good quality.

I'm going to throw out there to make sure your guest list is SET! You can't not invite someone once they get an STD so if the budget gets tighter you cant drop people from the list.
