Cheap, easy, non-tacky Wedding Favors?

Future Mrs. Firkins, on May 27, 2017 at 1:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 58

Hey all! Pretty self-explanatory what this will be about after reading the title. Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap, easy wedding favors that won't be tacky? (Sorry if I overlooked any posts that already addressed this!)

Favors aren't required these days and many people are skipping them. If you do decided to do favors make it something edible. Candy, cookies, and popcorn are just a few of the ideas I've seen

Candy in little satchels. Not sure how cheap, but don't think it is too expensive...framed wallet size B&G picture. or skip the favors altogether....most people toss them or leave them behind anyway.

I skipped them! Instead I just put that money towards extra food. Little extras we had was a popcorn bar as a late night snack. And on everyone's place setting when they sat down to dinner was a chocolate covered strawberry. That was where I put that money. (We already had open bar, passed appetizers, and a plated dinner).

I purchased some key shaped bottle openers from Amazon. We stamped thank you on the tags. So cute!

We're doing candied almonds and Hershey kisses in a small satchel or cute box along with a photobooth. Those should be enough I hope

I was on team no favors for a long time. I recently had the idea to make a spice blend and have little 1 ounce jars as the favor for everyone. I priced out all of the spices and the jars and it comes out to just under $2 each. I thought that was reasonable.

The spice blend is what I make to use on chicken wings, ribs, salsa, etc. I figured it would be a nice personal touch.

We are doing a candy buffet but i you dont have to do anything. And be warned, if you are doing the heart bottle openers most people will throw them away. Every wedding i have been to the past 2 yrs have done them.

I'm a baker so I'm making cookies and putting them in a cute paper bag that says "midnight snack" and our wedding date and our names on it. It sounds like it might look funny but it's done really tasteful I promise

FH recently graduated with a Culinary Arts degree & I love Spring flowers...thought about a 'flour n flower' favors where guest could choose either a bag of flour specific from his home state or Spring bulbs that could be planted in Fall. I love the thought of flowers coming up in Spring from our wedding day...year after year.

Ultimately, this is not in the budget & we are foregoing favors altogether...it's not necessary & I'd rather have favors that guests will appreciate & not something 'cheap' in quality if we went with something we could afford.

I did chocolate covered pretzels in a clear bag with a cute thank you tag and ribbon. Gave the guests a little snack later on in the night!

We love honey and tea and my mom works for a large honey farm in our area so we are doing sample sized jars ( which we are getting for free!) of my favorite flavor and his favorite flavor of honey with a tag that says "Colleen and Joel were meant to bee!" And then a thank you and our wedding day on the other side

My FFIL is making us lip balm courtesy of his bees. Half will be flavored Vermont Maple (where FH is from) the other half will be Michigan Cherry (where I am from). Labels will have our names, date, thank you, etc.
